Take a Road Trip Together

With this extra long weekend coming up, why not get in the car and take off for little day trip? There are tons of wonderful romantic escapes, all within a 2-hour drive from downtown Orlando. Here are a few popular choices…

About 40 minutes from downtown Orlando or
Sometimes referred to as the "Psychic Center of the World", Cassadaga is a fun place to spend the afternoon. Consult one of more than 50 mediums, psychics, and healers or take a Historic Tour of Cassadaga ($15) on Saturday Nov. 24th (1pm and 3pm). Meet at the Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp Bookstore, 1112 Stevens Street, 386-228-2880.

Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards
About 30 minutes from downtown Orlando
Enjoy a complimentary tour and wine tasting, pack a picnic lunch and spend the afternoon amidst the vines. Open Mon-Sat, 10am – 5pm and Sunday, 11am – 5pm. (Closed on Thanksgiving Day).

Historic Bok Sanctuary
About an hour from downtown Orlando
Tour the magnificent gardens, museum, and estate or enjoy a Thanksgiving Day Concert on Thursday, Nov. 22 at 1pm & 3pm.

St. Augustine
About an hour and 45 minutes from downtown Orlando
Experience the St Augustine Haunted Pub Tour, check out the many museums, and visit Castillo de San Marcos, the most impressive and imposing historical landmark in St. Augustine.
If you happen to be there on the 4th Sunday of the month (this Sunday), you can catch Jazz Jam, a free Jazz concert sponsored by The St. Augustine Jazz Society, 2pm to 6pm at the VFW, U.S. 1 South. Call 904-797-7361 for more information.

Mount Dora
About 45 minutes from downtown Orlando
Strolling, eating at cafes, shopping, and nature walks are all great reasons to visit Mount Dora. The Annual Light-Up Mount Dora event is this Sunday, Nov. 25th from 5-9 pm at Donnelly Park. Donnelly Park and downtown Mount Dora will be illuminated with close to 2 million sparkling lights plus there will be holiday entertainment including the Community Choir, Ballet, a soloist, singalongs and Santa. St. Petersburg/Tampa
About an hour and 45 minutes from downtown Orlando
Visit the Salvador Dali Museum, Florida Aquarium, have lunch at Don CeSar, or enjoy the outdoor-lighted sand volleyball courts at Club V Beach.

    What a romantic idea ! It an unusual idea of romantic date with your love. I did enjoy the best of the last weekend with my gf on the roads of brighton. After that we booked a hotel there thru LMT and enjoyed the rest of our night.
