As a freelance writer and blogger, I am sometimes offered activities, dining, event tickets and other travel-related perks at a free or reduced rate. The companies that offer me these freebies/discounts know that I will be writing my honest opinion about their experience. I never exchange freebies/discounts for a positive review. Not ever.
From time to time, I give away event tickets and other prizes on my blog. Unless otherwise indicated, I am not compensated to run these contests, however, the tickets/prizes are given to me at no cost for the purpose of giving them away in a contest for my readers.
While many of the experiences I review in my blog are offered to me at no cost, I feel strongly that I do not recommend date night experiences that I don’t truly think are worthwhile to my readers. I only blog about date night experiences I would go on myself.
