HeartsAnyone who tells you that you have to break the bank to win your honey’s heart on Valentine’s Day has no idea what they’re talking about. Here’s the truth about romance: creativity and thoughtfulness score way more points than bling… at least in my book.

With that in mind, here are a handful of V-Day options that you can experience for $30 or less:

Valentine’s Movie Night at Leu Gardens
Harry P. Leu Gardens
Gardens open at 6 pm, movie starts at 7:30 pm
Admission is $5.00 plus tax
On this starry night, the gigantic screen in this 50-acre botanical oasis will be showing The Vow (Rachel McAdams, Channing Tatum).
Pssst… get there early; this event will fill up quickly.

Popcorn Flicks in the Park
Central Park, Winter Park

Free
Snuggle up on a blanket and enjoy a FREE screening of From Here To Eternity, an Academy Award-winning classic and one of the most romantic movies of all time.
Pssst… city officials don’t encourage wine in the park but they don’t make a fuss about it either. Feel free to pop some bubbly.

The 5th Annual Human Heart: An OUTright Love-in Public
Loch Haven Park
6:14pm
Free
Hundreds of "hearticipants" will come together on Valentine's day to build a huge human heart [a heArt installation] for human rights, LGBTQ justice, and equality. As the sun sets, hundreds of candles will be lit forming a fabulous, flaming, huge heart in the park. Everyone, gay or straight, is encouraged to take part in this lovely moment to celebrate love and the momentous progress toward equality. It's all over by 7pm, so as not to interfere with other romantic plans, but many participants will be heading to The Venue afterward for drinks and food.
