I try not to overload Great Dates Orlando with restaurant recommendations but every once in a while I come across a restaurant that’s so special or unique I just have to share it with readers. Hash House a Go Go definitely falls in the “unique” category.

This “Twisted Farm Food” concept serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, opened on the east side of International Drive (close to the I-Drive outlets) about 6 weeks ago and has created quite a buzz with its atypical food combinations and gigantic portions. Go hungry. I’m talking light breakfast and skip lunch kind of hungry.

The concept for Hash House is rooted in the idea of creating comfort food—fried chicken, meatloaf, mac & cheese—but then adding an unexpected twist. The fried chicken will arrive on top of a tower of bacon infused waffles. The meatloaf is stuffed with roasted red peppers, fresh spinach & mozzarella cheese. And the mac & cheese is served with a fresh duck skewer. I promise… every time something is delivered to your table you’ll say “wow!”

The food concoctions and cocktails (huge, fun list by the way) vary from creative to zany to downright hilarious. Case in point: the breakfast menu features an item called “O'Hare of the dog,” which is a 24 oz can of Budweiser served in a bag with a side of bacon. See ya later hangover!

Here’s some picks from a recent visit to give you a better idea of what you’re in for:
