It’s no secret that I am a HUGE fan of Gaylord Palms Resort and its annual winter fête, the legendary ICE! spectacular. For starters, the already magnificent resort is set aglow with 2 million lights centered around a towering 54-foot Christmas tree in the heart of the resort’s 4.5-acre atrium. It’s a dazzling sight to behold!
But ICE! is so much more than twinkling lights. From November 15, 2014 – January 4, 2015, Gaylord Palms becomes an epicenter of Christmas, complete with free live holiday shows, festive feasts, and of course, the legendary frosty wonderland crafted from 2 million pounds of hand-carved ice.
This year’s ICE! attraction features an all-new theme: The Nutcracker. New to the resort’s Christmas celebration is Alpine Rush Snow Tubing, an 18’ 8-lane giant snow hill created with 1.5 million pounds of real Florida snow.
Also new this year is On The Blocks ICE! Bar, where a 21 and up crowd can sip icy pours of Johnny Appleseed cider and “BlockBuster” drinks served in an ICE! souvenir glass.
So, now to announce this month’s Couple at Large Giveaway. One lucky couple is headed to Gaylord Palms Resort to enjoy the entire ICE! experience. The winning couple will receive:
- Overnight stay for two, including complimentary room accommodations, tax, resort fee and self or valet parking charges
- Two (2) combo tickets to ICE! featuring The Nutcracker and the All-NEW! Alpine Rush Snow Tubing

The winner will have just one favor to return: they will be tasked with reporting back with a short, first-person blog about their experience due 3 days after their ICE! experience.
A few things: the prize MUST be redeemed between November 21 – November 30, 2014. You must be 21 or older, no exceptions. In the event that a prize winner is disqualified for any reason, the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner by random. All prizes are non-transferable and no substitutions will be made.
