Canvas Restaurant, a new concept by the Tavistock Restaurant Collection, is now open in Lake Nona. We checked it out last week and immediately fell in love. A gorgeous dining room and waterfront views is sure to wow from the moment you step inside but the fabulous food is what will keep you smiling.
Designed around local and seasonal fare, the menu gives Executive Chef Bryan Thoman the chance to flex his culinary creativity with sharable appetizers, small plates, wood oven-grilled flatbreads, bright salads, satisfying sandwiches, hearty entrees and scrumptious desserts.
Menu highlights include cured pork shank with collard greens, pan-roasted Meyer lemon scallops, fried shrimp and oyster po boy, house-cured snapper ceviche, peel-and-eat shrimp, and braised short ribs served with house-made ricotta cheese.
Canvas also features a prominent wood oven, wood grill, expansive bar serving fabulous specialty cocktails and a 10-person chef’s counter facing the open kitchen where guests can opt for an intimate dining experience with Chef Thoman and his team.
In addition, the venue also features an adjacent market where guests can enjoy freshly prepared breakfast and lunch items from the Canvas kitchen and peruse a hand-selected collection of housewares, books, and local goods.
Canvas Restaurant and Market is located at the Laureate Park Village Center in Lake Nona, just east of Lake Nona Medical City.
The Canvas bar is open daily at 3pm with a limited menu and the main dining room is open at 5pm.
