thornton park

Downtown Orlando's Thornton Park District is one of the city's loveliest areas. Besides laying claim to at least one corner of beautiful Lake Eola Park, this brick street neighborhood boasts lots of quaint bungalows, walkable streets, cute boutiques, cafes and a slew of really great restaurants. Next time you're making plans for a lazy Sunday, be sure to steer your car or bike towards Thornton Park.

1. Orlando Farmers Market

Held Sundays from 10am – 4pm, this weekly Thornton Park food fest draws thousands to the southeast corner of Lake Eola Park for lots of eat-as-you-stroll bites from kettle corn to gourmet cheeses. You'll also find art and jewelry crafted by local creatives, handmade decor items and fruits and veggies. Oh, and there's a beer and wine garden that opens every Sunday from 12pm – 4pm and features live music.
