Best of January 2021: Our Favorite Orlando Events for Date Night

Kick off the new year with some local fun! From multiple outdoor events as part of the ongoing Frontyard Festival series at Dr. Phillips Center and Orlando Fringe’s hybrid Winter Mini Fest to trivia nights galore and a new introduction to wine course, we’ve curated this list of our favorite in-person and virtual Orlando events this month.

January 4 – 10

Strawberry U-pick
Tuesday, January 5, 11am-4pm
Southern Hill Farms
Celebrate the winter harvest at your local farm! Enjoy picking your own farm fresh strawberries at the first ever strawberry season at Southern Hill Farms. Tickets and/or reservations are not required. Strawberry picking is first come, first served; check the farm’s Facebook or Instagram page for details.

Trivia Night

Trivia is back! Join in for craft beer, food and prizes every Tuesday night. Food and beer available for purchase.

Orlando Fringe Winter Mini-Fest
January 7-10
Outdoor and online event hosted by Orlando Fringe
With the pandemic continuing to keep performing arts venues closed or operating in a limited capacity, Orlando Fringe is producing a hybrid festival with the majority of events being broadcast online and a limited number of in-person performances, and a socially responsible hangout with fellow Fringe fans featuring screenings from select performances.
$25 – $80 for in-person seating; $10 per show for virtual shows; $75 for online access pass

The Foreigner Experience – Winter Garden

FL SMaSH Beer Festival

Reiter Park Longwood
With roughly 60 beers to sample, including one-offs from every brewery, there will be something to please everyone. Support local breweries and the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Pompeii: The Immortal City
Through January 24
Orlando Science Center
This remarkable exhibit is coming to the Science Center for a limited run. Orlando will be one of only three sites in the United States to host Pompeii: The Immortal City. Through artwork, interactive mechanical devices, and multimedia experiences, you will embark on a journey through time into the daily life of a first-century Roman town.

This wonderful program features An American in Paris, plus a pair of virtuoso turns as Kevin Cole – hailed by the Chicago Tribune as “today’s leading piano interpreter of music by George Gershwin” – performs Rhapsody in Blue and Orlando Philharmonic’s own Rimma Bergeron-Langlois is the soloist for Fantasy on Porgy & Bess.
