Located just 30 minutes from Orlando, this 4,500 acre “natural theme park” offers a romantic escape from everyday life. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy exploring the park's 11 distinct plant communities, six lakes, and 20+ miles of trails. At the end of the day, head back to your luxury glamp-site to share a bottle of wine, roast s'mores, and gaze up at the stars.

CareFree Luxury Glamping at Lake Louisa State Park

Lake Louisa's three spacious glamp-sites are ideal for nature lovers, novelty seekers, and anyone looking for a unique way to up their date night game.

Each 200-square foot luxury glamping tent is fully furnished, air conditioned, and equipped with the conveniences of a modern hotel room. Canvas and mesh tent flaps provide a secure bug barrier, while a temperature control unit keeps the tent comfortable through sunshine and storms. Restrooms and showers are a few steps away, near the fishing dock of picturesque Dixie Lake.

Restrooms aside, this is no primitive campsite. Enjoy camping staples like a private picnic area, a fire pit with two chairs, and a personal barbecue grill.

The highlight of each site is a cream-colored luxury bell tent on a raised wooden platform. Each tent is decked out with charming exterior market lights and colorful greenery. Twin lanterns flank a shaded patio, and a cheery door mat welcomes you home. Prepare for curious stares from passers-by as you unzip the door to your personal glamping paradise.

Each tent features a euro-top queen bed with plush white bedding, a spacious seating area for two, and plenty of modern must-haves for a relaxing getaway. Fun prints, bright accent pieces, and faux plants add warmth and color to a traditionally rugged space. Industrial-modern light fixtures with Edison bulbs give the room a cozy, romantic glow. Several outlets are available to charge everything from phones and cameras to oscillating fans. Water bottles, a Keurig, and coffee supplies are all included.

A rustic letterboard on the bed reads, “Glampers have more fun.” After spending the weekend glamping at Lake Louisa State Park, I couldn't agree more. This unique Central Florida gem offers visitors a prime opportunity to get outside and enjoy Florida's natural beauty without sacrificing the comforts of home.

My husband and I don't have a tent or sleeping bags, so glamping was a great solution for our little family. We brought our one-year-old daughter along, and it was a relief to be able to just unzip the tent and go straight to relaxation mode. Once the baby fell asleep, we shared a bottle of wine by the fire and had a great little date night just the two of us. My husband said it felt like we were on one of those over-the-top fantasy suite dates on The Bachelor.

Explore Wild Florida

Are you an adventure addict? Lake Louisa State Park offers a wide variety of recreational activities such as fishing, horseback riding, biking, kayaking, hiking, geocaching, boating, and even swimming. Trail maps, as well as bird and butterfly guides, are available at the ranger station.

Paddle a kayak through the lily pads of Hammond Lake, or take a nature trek along one of the park's nine popular hiking trails. We took a little hike around Hammond Lake in the morning (short and sweet with a sleepy baby). Keep an eye out for bald eagles!

Try your hand at fishing, or join a guided horseback trail ride. Whatever activity you choose, you're bound to bond over an adventurous day date at Lake Louisa State Park.

Not Outdoorsy? Not to Worry

If hiking and kayaking aren't your thing, there are a wealth of unique activities to explore in nearby Clermont. Get your daily dose of Vitamin C picking your own blueberries and sunflowers at Southern Hill Farms. Grab a round at one of two downtown Clermont breweries, or spend the afternoon wine tasting at Lakeridge Winery. Travel to the top of the Florida Citrus Tower, then go head-to-head with your date at the arcade downstairs. For more ideas, check out our Historic Clermont day trip guide.

You can come and go as you please, even after the park gates close for the night, thanks to a convenient gate code. At the end of the day, settle in by the campfire or take a walk out to the lake for a romantic evening under the stars.

Know Before You Go

Lake Louisa's CareFree Luxury Glamping Tents start at $120 per night. Each tent can accommodate 2–4 guests. Traveling with a larger party? Ask to place two tents on one campsite, for a maximum of eight guests per site. Book via Airbnb, or book directly through Lake Louisa State Park.

Forgot to bring your bug spray? No problem. Lake Louisa offers several add-on bundles to help ensure a fun, fuss-free glamping experience. They offer everything, from firestarters to s'mores kits to a full-on bug protection bundle. Add-ons can be purchased online when you book, or in person at the Camper Canteen (open daily from 10am to 4pm).

The heating and cooling unit keeps the tent interior 5-10 degrees cooler than the outside temperature during the summer. Feel free to bring your own oscillating fan and plug it in if you prefer the room ice cold.
