Want to slip into that vacation state of mind, even if only for just a day? The lively Brunch Remix served every Saturday and Sunday from 11am – 3pm at Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach combines three things we love into one: brunch, the beach and live music.

After making the easy 1-hour drive from Orlando, arrive to dine on the oceanfront deck, where your worries will be carried away with the gentle ocean breeze and live musicians set the vibe for a laid-back brunch worth lingering over.

BRUNCH REMIX DRINKS + FOOD

Breakfast burgers, classic breakfast fare, lunch items and more comprise the diverse brunch menu. And there is a new brunch buffet which costs just a few bucks more than an individual entree.

We started with some chicken wings glazed in a spicy Asian BBQ sauce that had us licking our fingers in between mimosa sips. The Blue Cheese Glazed Tater Tots and Crab Cakes are other noteworthy starters.

For the main brunch course, there are just a handful of brunch entrees from which to choose. Plenty of lunch options fill out the menu.

During our June 2023 experience, we went for the Hangover Burger with melty cheese, fried egg, fresh jalapenos, bacon, and thick cut fries. Two people could easily share this generous burger, though it would be tough to give up half of it. If you're worried about the jalapenos, since they are fresh (not pickled) the flavor is lighter with a hint of spice.

The Lox and Bagel provided a fresh alternative to the heavy burger. The Everything bagel has plenty of flavor and chewy texture while the smoked salmon, capers, thinly sliced red onion, and hard-boiled egg on top provided the class lox style. A fresh fruit cup accompanied the bagel and made for a refreshing side.

Next time we visit we'll give the Biscuits and Gravy a try. And the buffet sounds delightful with an omelet station, pastries, yogurts, and more.

Brunch Drinks

Bottomless mimosas are $25 with an entree or $15 when ordered with the brunch buffet. These simple mimosas go down easy with fresh Florida orange juice and bubbly Prosecco.

However, it is hard to resist the brunch cocktails like the Hard Rock Sunrise Mimosa. This spin on a classic mimosa is made with vodka, pineapple juice, grenadine, and a splash of Prosecco.

Other brunch libations include sangria, Bloody Marys, and a French 75.

LIVE MUSIC

Music is a key component of the Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach experience. From memorabilia on the walls and album covers adorning the room entrances, to music-inspired spa treatments and the inclusion of a favorite artist on the name badge of each member of the hotel staff, musical touches are everywhere. So, naturally, live music is to be expected.

Brunch Remix specifically offers two distinct vibes. On Saturdays, enjoy upbeat tunes from a live DJ. On Sundays, the spotlight is on local acoustic performers. Sometimes a live DJ provides the brunch entertainment both Saturday and Sunday.

The musical lineup for Brunch Remix is available here.

BEACH TIME

One major perk of the strip of sand in front of Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach is that it is meant to be a traffic-free zone. Just keep an eye out because although it is meant to be a slice of the beach without any vehicles on it, the occasional driver comes through the area anyhow.

This lends a more low-key Daytona Beach experience. Pack your swimsuit and beach gear and stake out a spot on the beach to continue the daycation. You're welcomed to leave your car parked at the hotel and stay as long as you'd like after brunching.

Several staircases surrounding the restaurant and pool offer direct beach access. However, reentry via these staircases requires a room key. So if you're not staying the night, you can use the public beach access and parking area next to the hotel instead.

You may want to budget a few extra dollars to splurge on the lounge chairs and umbrellas that are available from Seabreeze Beach Rentals for $15 per hour, or $40 for three hours.

Got your eyes on the oceanfront pool? The hotel's pool is only for overnight guests. But, beginning around September, the hotel usually offers seasonal day passes available for purchase.

Don't feel like hanging at the beach all day? Continue the fun by booking a couples spa treatment at the Rock Spa, or return for dinner (and more live music) in the early evening. Or, just go all out and book a room for the night so you can wake up for a sunrise stroll together.
