It's an Orlando treasure, even though it's in the next county over. Cranes Roost Park at Uptown Altamonte is a longtime favorite park that is home to multiple special events and is great to visit for a casual date idea. Located in the heart of Altamonte Springs and surrounding Cranes Roost Lake, this 45-acre park features a European-style plaza with a choreographed fountain show and a 62-foot picturesque tower.
You'll also find the Eddie Rose Amphitheater with stadium-style seating and a one-of-a-kind floating stage. The much-loved park has modernized sidewalks, streets, boardwalks, lighting, canopies, a fountain, and a floating stage. And now you can hop aboard the FREE CraneRides shuttle for a fun and futuristic ride.
Even though it is one of the most popular things to do in Seminole County, it is still a worthy Orlando date idea.
GO FOR A STROLL
On cooler days and nights the one-mile long boardwalk circling the water offers an ideal way to work off some calories from nearby restaurants and eateries. Cranes Roost Park is pet friendly in most areas. The pet walk path is conveniently mapped out and posted on signage in the park.
Pets must be leashed and the pet handler must clean up after the pet.
As you stroll around the one-mile boardwalk take a moment to appreciate some of the art sculptures. There are a few in the fountain plaza as well the can't-miss mother crane and baby crane art sculpture.
Take advantage of the benches placed throughout the boardwalk and along the sidewalk too. Restrooms are located on one side of the park, near the floating stage.
CAFE MURANO
Cafe Murano sits along the edge of Cranes Roost Park and is popular with locals. Take advantage of drink specials at the bar, including wines by the glass, cocktails and beer, during happy hour Mondays through Fridays from 4 – 7pm.
The outdoor dining is lovely when the weather is nice and especially during the holiday season overlooking the Christmas light displays in the park. This local restaurant is also popular for large gatherings and events like baby showers or graduations.
The Jazz Brunch on Sundays 11am – 3pm is a long-standing tradition, especially thanks to the bottomless mimosas option.
CRANES ROOST SUNSET CINEMA
Bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy a family-friendly movie on the lawn in front of the tower. Food and beverages are available for purchase.
The Cranes Roost Sunset Cinema happens periodically throughout the year, especially in the fall and holiday seasons. In fact, it is one of our favorite places to see holiday movies in Orlando.

Park Hours
Park hours are from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 7 a.m. until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Park hours may vary during events.
Parking is available near the AMC Theater as well as along Cranes Roost Boulevard and the Uptown Altamonte shopping plaza. You can also park at the Altamonte Mall, near Seasons 52, and use the Beep Autonomous Shuttle for a quick and cool ride over to Cranes Roost Park.
