National Margarita Day is this Saturday, February 22 and the celebration will be commemorated at a handful of local eateries across Orlando.
Margaritaville Orlando is hosting Margaritaville University, a complimentary one-hour bartending class where select Margaritaville bartenders will teach guests how to make up to three of their signature margaritas from 3 to 4pm. Each guest will receive a diploma from Margaritaville University. A Great Margarita Toast will be held at 5 pm throughout the restaurant as well!
Cocina 214’s Margarita Madness returns again with the renowned recipe contest judged this year by News 13’s Allison Walker, FOX35’s Lauren Johnson, Kaitlin McGavock, former bartender at The Courtesy and owner of Daughters & Co., Katie Farmand, editor of Edible Orlando, and Travis Joiner, President of the Central Florida Bartender’s Guild.
On Saturday, February 22 at 6:30 pm judges will choose the winner from the many recipes submitted over the past month. The top three contestants selected from the entries submitted will go head-to-head, making their respective margarita recipes at the start of the celebration for judging.
Complimentary samples of the competing margaritas will be offered from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., and will be sold at a discounted price throughout the night. There is no admission fee for spectators.
Finally, they'll be celebrating at Agave Azul (4750 S. Kirkman Road, Orlando) with $5 Patron Margaritas, live music and Azul Margarita Jello Squares.
