If you've ever had the chance to speak to Chef Kevin Fonzo, the powerhouse behind K Restaurant and such a relentless force in our local food movement, you may have picked up on a slight accent. When he really gets chatting, his NY Bronx roots and Italian heritage pops through. Growing up in a traditional Italian family, Chef Fonzo was steeped in the type of Italian cuisine his ancestors in Italy would be proud of.
And while those Italian roots make their way into just a few of his dishes at K Restaurant, once each year he really lets them shine. Now in its 14th year, The Feast of Fonzo is Chef Fonzo's chance to let his Italian heritage fly. Served as a family-style supper, the dinner features multiple courses of the classic Italian dishes born from his coveted family recipes.
Guests start with Prosecco and a delicious antipasto spread in the garden and at the bar before heading to their tables to start devouring platters of pasta, meatballs, clams, sausage… the list goes on and on. If there's any room left in your stomach, you'll then be invited to dive into a dessert buffet piled high with cannoli, tiramisu and cheesecake. If nothing else, finish the night with a Sambuca and Limoncello toast.
This all-inclusive feast, which features Italian wines from Linda K Sullivan of Noble Wine Estate, will take place on Thursday, November 19, 2015 beginning at 6:30pm. Price is $75 excluding service and gratuity. Reservations, which are required, can be made by calling 407-872-2332.
