National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15) is a way to celebrate the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic-Americans. Celebrating Hispanic Voices: An Evening of Spoken Word

These wordsmiths, also referred to as spoken word artists, from the Latinx community, will join Orlando’s Poet Laureate, Shawn Welcome, and emerging local high school talents for a rarely seen and heard 90-minute interactive showcase that will solidify anyone’s definition of spoken word poetry. These artists will present original works that will help audience’s understand the power of poems as social commentary and gaining perspective on the Latinx experience.

Latin Jazz and Art Festival

Jazz trumpet sensation Arturo Sandoval returns to Casselberry on Sept. 21, 2024 to perform at the free Latin Jazz & Art Festival at Lake Concord Park located at 95 Triplet Lake Drive in Casselberry. Sponsored by the City of Casselberry and WUCF, this concert event from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. will entice all jazz lovers to come and enjoy a spectacular evening highlighted by the award-winning trumpeter, who previously appeared here in 2017. 

Prior to the concert, some of the area’s greatest Latin visual artists will showcase their works in the Artista Siempre art exhibit.  Everything from paintings and sculptures to mixed media masterpieces will be on display in Casselberry City Hall, Art House, Art Center and Sculpture House from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.  This exciting exhibit kicks off the Latin Jazz & Art Festival celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.
