A new culinary experience has arrived in downtown Orlando. Sushi Saint's private Omakase Room, is a must-do for a romantic dinner or special occasion with friends. Curated by Michelin-starred chef, Michael Collantes, prepare to embark on a gastronomic journey that will awaken your senses and leave you craving more.
What Exactly Is Omakase?
Hand your palate over to the chef for an Orlando Omakase feast that will astound you. The exact translation of Omakase is debatable. Some say it means “chef's choice,” while others will argue that the Japanese phrase means “I'll leave it up to you.” What cannot be argued, however, is that Omakase dining is an absolutely fabulous culinary experience, especially for sushi lovers.
It may seem intimidating, but an omakase experience is relaxing and intimate. You see, the last thing a good chef wants to do is offend you. A chef's job is to delight and surprise, to draw out oohs and ahs, to leave you wanting more.
What to Expect at the Sushi Saint Omakase Room
Nestled in a vibrant, relaxed ambiance, their 8-seat counter seating invites guests to indulge in a 12-course casual dining experience. At the beginning of your experience you will be led into the Omakase Room and sat with the other people scheduled for your time slot. The night we were there it was only 6 people, so it was an even more intimate experience. Other than the guests, the only other people in the room are the chef and an assistant.
One of the best things about this experience is the ability to see the chef preparing every part of the 12-course meal that you get to enjoy. Chef Yedo was our guide for the evening and made sure that we all enjoyed the experience and were comfortable. The menu changes and won't be available to you before you dine.
But don't worry, the chefs at Sushi Saint are there to ensure you enjoy your experience from start to finish.
If you have any dietary restrictions, make sure to note those when you make your reservations. One of the courses on the night we visited was beef, neither of which the people in our party ate. The chef was very accommodating and was able to make a replacement for us but this may not always be the case.
You can enhance your evening with optional upgrades and supplements tailored to your palate and budget. There is a Caviar Bump available for $15 per person, as well as a 5-pour beverage paring for $50 per person.
If you are currently on an alcohol-free journey you can still get the beverage pairing and they will adjust it to all alcohol-free drinks.
If you are attending the 6pm seating during the week, we suggest arriving a little early and taking advantage of their Happy Hour that runs from 3-6pm. Enjoy a cocktail or beer before heading in for your experience. If you are looking for mocktails, they have some incredible ones on their menu. We enjoyed the Matcha-Ismo which was made with Matcha, Coconut, Pineapple, and Oat Milk. It was beautiful AND tasty!
Sushi Saint's Omakase experience is available Wednesday – Sunday at 6pm and 8pm. Prices start at $100 per person.
