The Town Disney Built

Orlando has always been synonymous with the world of Disney, with thousands of visitors flocking to the theme park each year to get lost in the magic. However, a few miles south of Disney World is Celebration — an entire town built by the people at Disney. Founded in the mid-90s by the Walt Disney Company, Celebration is a must-see, with the opportunity to explore and admire all the charm around the urban ideals.

Although the town is now not owned by Disney, Celebration still holds memories of a picturesque time with tree-lined streets, captivating buildings, and a flourishing mix of restaurants and shops — everything you would expect from a small town. Visitors can explore through a self-guided walking tour, turn on the romance with a horse-drawn carriage ride, or rent bikes and Segways for a trip around the town. End your day in the best way possible, sipping cocktails over a romantic meal for two on Market Street.

Enjoy the Great Outdoors

Orlando is filled with romance on every corner, especially when you consider the abundance of beautiful gardens, parks, and opportunities to break away from the building of tourism and get back into nature, enjoying the great outdoors together, holding hands, without a single care in the world. Pack a picnic for an outdoor date with all the bells and whistles of extra effort. The myriad of free gardens, parks, nature trails, and more can be found in Orlando — an opportunity to take your breath away in the most romantic way possible.

Lake Eola Park

A must-visit outdoor attraction is Lake Eola Park. Found in the heart of Downtown Orlando with a sidewalk that circles the lake, relaxing flowerbeds, gazing upon stunning views of the Orlando skyline and the glimmer of Lake Eola. See swans and other birds locals that inhabit the park, or check out a free movie, play, or concert in the Walt Disney Amphitheatre. Nearly 50 acres of botanical oasis await with landscaped grounds, lakes, and walking trails, all shadowed by the 200-year-old oaks of the camellias.

Lake Lotus Park

Lake Lotus Park is the nature preserve of Altamonte Springs, with a total area of around 150 acres, including a 120-acre span of woods and wetlands. With seemingly limitless natural encounters with flora and fauna, this is the perfect place to romance away from the hustle and bustle that comes with more built-up areas.

Bok Tower Gardens

Located just a few miles away from the LEGOLAND Florida Resort in Lake Wales sits a National Historic Landmark, Bok Tower Gardens. Anchored by a 205-foot Art Deco Singing Tower, this building was commissioned by American editor and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Edward William Bok. He aimed to create a sanctuary with the purpose of solely and singly expressing the gospel of beauty in a bid to open our eyes and awaken our senses to the beautiful (and if that isn't romance, we don't know what is). This 250-acre oasis was first opened in 1929 and continues to be one of the most popular attractions for tourists and couples visiting the area — with peaceful gardens, walking trails, and even a 3-acre children's garden that supplies your little ones a chance to play, relax, and create entire worlds of their own.
