Universal's on-screen adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical, Wicked, will come to life at Universal Orlando Resort. The highly anticipated film will fly into theatres on November 22, 2024, but you'll have the chance to defy gravity with this enchanting new experience starting next month.
Wicked tells the tale of Glinda the good witch and Elphaba, the wicked witch. The story recounts their unlikely friendship before Dorothy landed in Oz and takes guests on a musical journey down the yellow brick road to the Emerald City and through the Land of Oz. Wicked also introduces beloved characters such as the scarecrow, lion, and tin man, and how they came to be before they were off to meet the Wizard.
Wicked: The Experience at Universal Orlando Resort
The experience is designed to capture the imagination and spirit of the breathtaking world of Wicked. You'll be able to step right into the story for the first time ever and express your fandom through special fashion and accessories.
Wicked: The Experience will take place beginning in late October and will be housed in the former location of the UNIVRS store and adjacent to retail locations just steps away from the front gate. From here, you'll have the unique opportunity to step into the fantastical Land of Oz.
This exclusive, one-of-a-kind experience will whisk you along the yellow brick road and into a variety of iconic Wicked locations, from Shiz University to the Emerald City. You can also take in the sights of fanciful costumes and props created by the designers from the film that will be on display, and immerse yourself in spectacular scenic and themed areas that will recreate some of the most memorable moments of the film.
New Retail at Wicked: The Experience
Rejoicify, because you'll be able to peek behind the Emerald City gates for a glimpse of new retail opportunities and exclusive products! An exciting variety of merchandise will include elevated apparel, home goods, accessories, toys, and more along with exclusive products at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal CityWalk.
The Wicked logo will don tons of items from apparel to home items, perfect for showing off your Wicked pride as you dance through life. Other exciting, themed items will include fashion dolls from Mattel, Funko Pops! of favorite characters, LEGO sets featuring the Land of Oz, Loungefly bags, and cosplay and prop replicas from The Noble Collection.
The Shiz University Collection will feature items and apparel inspired by the iconic school where Glinda and Elphaba first meet. Back to school must- haves will include a spirit jersey, duffle bag, tumbler, journal, and more.
A specially designed collection from the legendary Studio MinaLima will also be available, featuring Wicked-inspired graphics and prints for a cross-category collection including intricate, all-over print on apparel, accessories, home goods, confections, and stationary.
New Dining at Wicked: The Experience
Fantabulous-themed dining will complement these exciting Wicked experiences inside the theme park. Voodoo Doughnuts and The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen at Universal CityWalk will also feature limited time treats inspired by the world of Wicked.
